1. eSim installation in Ubuntu OS

    Supported releases: Ubuntu 23.04 / 24.04 / 25.04 / 26.04 (64-bit).
    One unified installer auto-detects the Ubuntu version — there are no
    per-version scripts to pick.

    Quick install (one line, no manual download)
    --------------------------------------------
    Open a terminal and paste:

        $ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FOSSEE/eSim/v2.6/Ubuntu/bootstrap.sh \
            | ESIM_BRANCH=v2.6 bash

    This pins both the bootstrap script and downloaded source to eSim 2.6 and
    runs the same installer described below. The command becomes available
    after FOSSEE tags the merged commit as v2.6.

    For a moving development snapshot, use:

        $ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FOSSEE/eSim/master/Ubuntu/bootstrap.sh | bash

    Already have an OLDER eSim (2.x) on this machine? Run the stable command —
    the installer detects and sweeps old-eSim artifacts (stale launchers,
    old KiCad apt sources, the /usr/local GHDL old nghdl built) and installs
    cleanly on top. There is no need to uninstall first, and two eSim
    versions cannot coexist on one machine. Your old extracted eSim
    directory is never deleted, just no longer used.

    It can also uninstall or preview:

        $ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FOSSEE/eSim/v2.6/Ubuntu/bootstrap.sh | ESIM_BRANCH=v2.6 bash -s -- --uninstall
        $ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FOSSEE/eSim/v2.6/Ubuntu/bootstrap.sh | ESIM_BRANCH=v2.6 bash -s -- --dry-run

    Manual install (downloaded zip)
    -------------------------------
   	i. After downloading eSim, extract it using:

   		       $ unzip eSim-2.6-ubuntu.zip

   	ii. Now change directories in to the top-level eSim directory (where this INSTALL file can be found).

   	iii. (Optional) Preview exactly what will be installed for your Ubuntu
   	        version, without changing anything:

   		       $ chmod +x install-eSim.sh
   		       $ ./install-eSim.sh --dry-run

   	iv. To install eSim and other dependencies, run:

   		       $ ./install-eSim.sh --install

   	v. To uninstall eSim and all of its components, run:

   		       $ ./install-eSim.sh --uninstall

   	        The installer is idempotent: re-running --install over an existing
   	        eSim (any prior version) reinstalls cleanly, and --uninstall is
   	        version-agnostic.

   	Note (developers): in the source tree the installer lives at
   	Ubuntu/install-eSim.sh and runs against the working tree directly. To cut a
   	frozen, self-contained release zip from the current tree, run
   	./make-release.sh (output in dist/).

   How to Run eSim
   =================

    A.  Through Terminal

   		   $ esim

    B. Double click eSim desktop icon

2. eSim installation in Windows OS

     i. Download eSim for Windows OS from "https://esim.fossee.in/". Disable the antivirus (if any).

     ii. If MinGW and/or MSYS is already installed in your machine, then remove it from the
            PATH environment variable as it may interfere with eSim and might not work as intended.

    iii. Now double click on eSim installer and then follow the instruction to install eSim.

     iv. Hence the installation is completed.

      v. To uninstall eSim and all of its components, run the uninstaller "uninst-eSim.exe" located at
            top-level eSim directory (where this INSTALL file can be found).
